Blown Out Flip Flop
A fan-built cruise activity for Margaritaville at Sea — hide and find QR-coded flip flop ducks around the ship.

Blown Out Flip Flop is a fan-made cruise activity for Margaritaville at Sea, modeled on the rubber-duck-hiding tradition that's taken over the cruise community — but with flip flops instead of ducks, and Jimmy Buffett lyrics in every corner.
Cruisers print or buy little flip-flop-shaped ducks, stick a QR-coded label on each one, and hide them around the ship. When another cruiser finds one, they scan the QR code, see where the flip flop has been before, log where they found it, and choose to keep it as a souvenir or re-hide it for the next person.
What it does
- Create a flip flop. Generate a unique QR code, name your flip flop, and start tracking its journey. Print the label, slap it on a flip flop duck, hide it on the ship.
- Bulk create. Make a stack at once for cruisers who want to drop dozens on a single sailing.
- Log a find. Scan a QR code, drop a pin where you found it, leave a note. The flip flop's history grows with every cruiser who picks it up.
- Interactive map. See where flip flops have traveled — by deck, by port, by sailing.
- Browse. Every flip flop in the wild, searchable and sortable.
- Margaritaville Lingo Dictionary. Every Buffett lyric you've ever wondered about, defined. "Changes in latitudes, changes in attitudes", "Some people claim there's a woman to blame", "It's five o'clock somewhere" — all there.
- Catch Game. A small arcade game for sea days. Catch falling coconuts and margarita glasses, avoid the sharks. High score saved.
Who it's for
Parrotheads on a Margaritaville at Sea cruise, full stop. The kind of cruiser who wants a fun extra activity on top of the ship's programming — something to hunt for between port days, a way to meet other cruisers in the wild. It's free, it's silly, and it scratches the same itch as the rubber duck game without stepping on it.
What it costs
Free. There's no monetization, no ads, no upsell. It exists because cruising should be fun.
Disclaimer
